Reimagining Comic Book Cover Art

I came across Covered about two months ago, and it has quickly become one of my favourite blogs. Its premise is simple: a large number of contributing artists create new versions of old comic book covers. Many incorporate their own unique styles and techniques into it, making it more of a reinterpretation, while others keep close to the original. It's a lovely idea. It's so fun to look through all of the different ideas its contributors are coming up with. It's very often a series I've never heard of, so I end up discovering new comics as well as new artists. Below are a few of my favorites, but really check it out for yourself! The site updates fairly frequently- a few times a week, usually. Be sure to look into all the artist websites; there are some extremely talented people here!

Batman #195 by Kelli Nelson. (orginal cover)

Strange Worlds #4 by Mark Todd. (original cover)

Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #211 by Robert Goodin. (original cover)

2001: A Space Odyssey #6 by Michael DeForge. (original cover)

Eerie #14 by Krisztián Puska. (original cover)

Battle Chasers #7 by Michaela Colette Zacchilli. (original cover)

X-Factor #31 by Marcos Pérez. (original cover)
